I’m Kristin Kiger, Father to Shay, Kallie, Emma and Ellie, As a kid I spent a lot of time in the outdoors with my dad and his friends. As with most kids there were a lot of times where I wished I had better or more gear to be able to successfully chase all kinds of wildlife. I also wished I had better places to get in the outdoors to be more successful. With those moments in mind, my intentions for Sportsman’s Heart is to provide those with opportunities that I wish I had as a kid. I want to be able to help all walks of life with any dreams of the outdoors they may have no matter how big or small.
My name is Brad Zimmerman and I’m happily married for 12 years with three beautiful children. I had the privilege as a child to grow up on a nice piece of property with creeks, woods, and farmland. Every day I found myself outside playing, exploring or fishing. As I got a little older I decided I wanted to start hunting. It was very difficult to learn given that no one in my family hunted and that I certainly didn’t have the right equipment. As time moved on I slowly drifted away from hunting and focused on other things. Fast forwarding several years, my love for the outdoors has been rekindled. I love spending time in the outdoors with my kids teaching them how to hunt, fish and soak up the beauty of God’s creation. I’m very proud to be a part of Sportsman’s Heart, providing kids an opportunity to learn and experience the outdoors to its fullest.
I’m Kenyon Barnett and it is easiest to know who I am by the people in my life. I am a husband to my wife Melissa and we have been married for over 20 years. I have 5 wonderful kids. They are Chloe (18), Cooper (16), Georgia (14), Will (12) and Elle (9). Growing up, I was fortunate to have a Grandfather that was an avid and talented sportsman. I learned a number of valuable skills from him that equipped me to enjoy the outdoors as an adult. Through his example and the leadership of a number of other wonderful and Godly men, I was able to experience the value of the investment of great mentors. Additionally, I have been fortunate to have many individuals invest in the lives of my children to teach them skills to help them in life, athletics and the outdoors. It is because of those examples that I have become involved in Sportsman’s Heart. My goal is to help facilitate meaningful mentorships that will allow others to grow in their love of the outdoors and pass on the heritage of investing in the next generation of leaders and sportsmen.
My name is Brandon Currin. Twenty years married to my wife Katie and we have three teenagers Jace, Rylan and Lyla Grace. The outdoors has been such a blessing in my life I do not have the ability to fully describe it. The friendships, adventures, laughs, struggles, and victories have made my life full and have shaped me into who I am today. I believe that anyone who has been introduced to the outdoors through hunting and fishing by real stewards of God's Creation is blessed in far many more ways than can be measured. I was introduced to the outdoors by my Father and Uncles at a very young age. The memories and appreciation run deep. I met Kristin Kiger many many years ago. We have been inseparable since. We share the passion of sharing our love of the outdoors with others. Furthermore, make it a point to be a fun experience and instill the fact that it's not all about the reward of going home with the harvest. It's about the experiences from start to finish. Never have I been Hunting or Fishing and came home empty-handed. I always go home with more than I left with by the experience of the outdoors and who I was with. I look forward to contributing to this organization in hopes to bring up others to enjoy the outdoors and have a heart of a sportsman.
My name is Donnie Hester and I am a husband to Mary and father to Emilee, Makayla, Mason, and Elijah. Needless to say, we have a busy house. I grew up loving the outdoors and even though I never got to do a lot of hunting as a child, I was always in the woods. My dad used to take me squirrel hunting and fishing when he wasn't on the road driving a truck. Sadly, I missed out on getting to spend a lot of time hunting and fishing with dad because he passed away when I was just 14. I have always wanted to make memories with my kids that I missed out on with my dad when it comes to the outdoors. After seeing my kids' excitement and sense of accomplishment, I have gained a desire to help share that with kids who have not been so fortunate. Regardless of their background and upbringing, every child should be able to learn about conservation and the benefits of being in the outdoors while having the right equipment to be successful; Sportman's Heart does just that. Through this organization, God has given me the opportunity to reach out to those kids and help them experience what He has created it all for; us.
